Purity Band is an auxiliary in the COGIC under the Women’s Department. It consists of young girls and boys, ages 13-19, who are commonly referred to as “Puritans.” However, we accept youth beginning at age 12.
Our endeavor is to engage and educate our Youth in the Word of God; pray for them; challenge and inspire them into action in living Saved, Sanctified, and Holy lives in the home, school, neighborhood, and church; and provide them with the tools for a successful transition from high school to adult life of university or employment.
Youth are the ongoing survival of the Church! So we’re preparing them as leaders in the church today for the future! We invite your youth to join us in Purity Band here at Ash St. Church of God in Christ where our Puritan’s doors hinge on Godly Love!
The late Missionary Cheryl Engram led the Purity Band for more than 35 years. Our current leader is Sister Tomeka Murphy.
